Hold On Tight — The Affordable 100, No. 002

$450.00
sold out

A small brown fist, a length of ribbon, and a mylar heart that's already starting to lose the fight against gravity.

Somebody handed you one of these once. A birthday, a hospital visit, a corner store on the walk home, a Valentine's Day when you were too young to know what it meant but old enough to know it was yours. And you held it like a job. You held it like letting go would be the end of something.

I painted the balloon a little dented and creased on purpose. The foil already softening, the shine going dull in patches. That's the truth of it. The good stuff deflates. You hold on anyway. The buttery yellow background is that specific light of a childhood afternoon, the kind that felt like it would last forever and never did.
